July 26 Calendar Of Events Released

Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Elijah F. Sieh, says Liberia's 166th Independence Day will be celebrated on the theme “Consolidate Peace and Reconciliation for Transformation. According to Mr. Sieh, on Friday, July 19, 2013 there will be an investiture ceremony at 4:00 P.M. in C. Cecil Dennis Auditorium at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Sieh further disclosed that 36 persons will be honored during the occasion and out of the 36, 29 persons will be honored in Montserrado County while the rest will receive their flowers on July 26 in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.
Ambassador Sieh disclosed that on the same date there will be a reception at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and on Saturday, July 20, 2013 there will be dedication of development projects in Montserrado County and basically there will be YWCA facilitates of the girls' dormitory at Ricks Institute and Science Lap at Bromley Mission. He noted that on the same date at 4:00 p.m. the golden image award will be presented to the honorees at the Monrovia City Hall and there will also be a dinner at 6:45 p.m.
“On Sunday, July 21, 2013 at 11: a.m. there will be a thanksgiving service to be hosted at the Church of Liberia in Gbapolu County, following which President Sirleaf along with some government officials will go to Bella Yellah and spend one night while other dignitaries and the rest of the officials of government will remain in Gbapolu County, to dedicate some Projects,” Mr.Sieh averred.
Mr. Sieh also said on Monday, July 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. all officials of government and participants will go back to Gbapolu to dedicate projects and on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 there will be thanksgiving and prayer service which will be organized by the Islamic Community of the National Muslims Council of Liberia in Grand Cape Mount County at 1:00 p.m.
He said following that there will be dedication of a stadium in Robertsports, after which there will be sporting activities.
“On Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. there will be dedication of 11 projects in Grand Cape Mount County and on Thursday, July 25, 2013 there be a launching of program of Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, called International Health Committee of Child Survival in Liberia in Tubmanbury, Bomi County.
On Friday, July 26, 2013 at 7:45 a.m. there will be a review of troops of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) by the Commander in-Chief, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf at the C .H. Duah Sport Ground and at 8:00 a.m. there will also be the hoisting of the National Flag.
At 11:00 a.m., the official ceremony in observance of the 166th Independence Day Anniversary celebration will start in Tubmanburg, and at 2:30 p.m. an Independence Day Reception will be hosted by President Sirleaf at the West African Examinations Council Building in Tubmanburg.
On Saturday, July 27,2013 there will be an official program for children and it will be held at the Executive Mansion,” Mr. Sieh Concluded.
