Liberia To Observe African Public Service Day Tomorrow

The Government of Liberia has announced the holding of African Public Service Day, to be observed as a Working Holiday on June 22, 2012.
According to a Proclamation issued from the Executive Mansion, the day is in compliance with the African Union 6th Conference of African Ministers for Public Service Champions Meeting held in Nairobi, Kenya, 2010, which adopted June 23d of each year as African Public Service Day, to reflect the gains and challenges of the service.
According to the Proclamation, the day will be celebrated under the Traditional theme: “Reconstructing Public/Civil Service Delivery after conflict: Lessons learned for capacity development”, and is intended to generate a sense of identity and accelerate the level of awareness of the rapid reform of the Public Service and appreciation of, and recognition of public servants for outstanding services.
The Proclamation therefore request that all Government Ministries, Agencies and Bureaux concerned, join the Civil Service Agency n executing appropriate programs befitting the occasion.
