Internal Audit Secretariat Audits 15 Gov't Ministeries

The Government of Liberia Internal Audit Secretariat says its internal audit strategy is targeting 15 ministries in 2012 and informs the public that there will be rotation of directors and deputy directors during the process.
The process kicked off on July 2, and is expected to climax Tomorrow, July 6, 2012.
Describing the rotational process as a cardinal element to the entire audit process, the Secretariat further notifies the public that its aim is to improve the effectiveness of the internal audit program in each ministry.
The exercise is intended to promote independence of directors and their deputies; bring fresh perspectives to the various ministries as well as transfer experiences and best practices from previous ministries.
The Secretariat craves the cooperation of the audit committees at the various ministries as it strives to support each ministry achieve its objectives in line with international and local systems and best practices and procedures.
The Secretariat was established in December 2011 in line with internationally accepted internal audit standards.
