GT Bank Liberia has donated 10 bags of USA parboiled rice and several tins of oil to the Antoninette Tubman Cheshire Home on 10th Street, in Monrovia. The initiative is part of the bank's corporate social responsibility to the society.
Delivering the food items on Wednesday, July 25, 2012, the head of Communications and External Affairs Mr. Matthias Danvessel said GT Bank will continue to target specific areas of need whenever festivities are to be celebrated.
Mr. Danvessel pledged the bank's commitment to always help the disabled and that such donation will not be the first and will not also be the last.
Receiving the items on behalf of the home, the Supervisor Ms. Georgia J. Roberts lauded the bank for the gesture and promised to use the items for the intended purpose.
Ms. Roberts disclosed that the home is catering to about 15 persons with disabilities. She named micro-grant, social/life skills training, and vocational skills as trainings provided by the center to reduce poverty for people with disabilities.
