Lone Star Whips Uganda Cranes 2-0

The national soccer team of Liberia, The Lone Star yesterday defeated The Cranes of Uganda 2 goals to 0 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
 
The game was a Fifa Brazil 2014 World Cup Qualifier in which the Stadium was jam-packed. Liberia went ahead in a late header in the first half through Patrick Wleh.
 
The second goal came in the second half through Anthony Laffor who was handed back the Captain Ban. Skipper Laffor got his first International goal for the national team upon his return to the national team.
 
He was deployed to play a central mid-field role with French-based Alseny Keita where he perfectly demonstrated his talent instead of his previous striking position.
 
Lone Star has now moved to second place on the table of Group A with 4 points from 3 games.
 
It was indeed a joyous mood by jubilating Liberians when the nation's pride, The Lone Star brought them victory. Some of the fans happily called on the LFA to maintain the current Technical Staff of the National Team which includes Jericho Nagbe, Joe Nagbe and Thomas KoJo.
 
The first team line-up who played yesterday were: Goal Keeper: Nathaniel Sherman, Defenders: Solomon Grimes, Teah Dennis, Patrick Gerhardt, Ansu Toure, Midfielders: Tonia Tisdell, Alseny Keita, Anthony Laffor (captain), Sekou Jabateh and Forwards: Francis Doe and Patrick Wleh.
