In Grand Bassa, Margibi: Gold Star Resource/IRSLE Gives Drugs

Clinics in Grand Bassa and Margibi Counties have benefited from an assortment of medical supplies from Canadian energy firm Gold Star. George Garteh The firm’s Country Manager said as they continue their reconnaissance for onshore oil they are also concern about the health needs of community dwellers. Mr. Garteh noted that the drug covered clinics in Bokay town and owensgrove in Granda Bassa , and Charles-ville   and Marshall in Margibi Counties. “ we have reach the peak of the rainy season in Liberia and the prevalence   of malaria related illnesses is their for all to see” Garteh stressed . He intimated that Gold Star maintains firm contacts with the local people indicating that their visits at the clinics compelled the donation.

Quizzed about the cost of the consignment of essential drug Mr Garteh noted that though it is about several thousand dollars the emphasis is to be place on those to benefit from the exercise. That Drug that were greeted by enormous relief by the benefitting Clinics followed consultations with their respective leadership outlining their areas of need. Grand Bassa County Development Superintendent Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries   hailed Gold Star for the initiative and encouraged them to continue their community driven programs as they move ahead with their involvement with the Liberian Economy. Gold Star Liberia Chief Garteh furthered that  thirty students Studying Geology at the University of Liberia are to shortly benefit from  a technical partnership that will provide practical skills to the students.

He noted That one expert from Gold Star will be seconded to The University of Liberia to coordinate the scheme that will provide an educational packed to the students.
The Project with the Geology students will give them what he calls direct project involvement. The student’s are expected to benefit from tuition subsidy and other unspecify financial benefits. The Geology students will also be drilled through Petroleum Geology as oppose to the Hard-rock Geology being taught in Liberia. He stressed that the group is licensed   by the Government to search for data regarding onshore oil noting that community interest is also paramount in such endeavor.  He intimated that success for on shore oil will benefit Liberia calling it a win-win situation.
