Fanmilk to Be Launched In Liberia
Like its counterparts, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Togo, FanMilk International has now introduced its products on the Liberian market. The Danish, FanMilk International which sells ice cream, yogurt and other similar cold products has been in western Liberia for over fifty years and on Monday, November 30, 2009 the FanMilk International Company will for the first time launch its products in the country. The company which has been in Ghana for the past fifty years, Nigeria since 1963, Togo since 1981, Ivory Coast since 2003, and Burkina Faso has employed nearly five thousand people and has over 20,000 vendors in West Africa alone. Speaking to this paper recently at the FanMilk Liberia headquarter on the Bushrod Island the General Manger, Arne Strauss said that the company has an initial US$1.1 million to begin its operations in the country, adding that the company has been preparing since January and began selling its product since September of this year.
Mr. Strauss continued that the company currently imports its raw materials from Ghana and Togo, but has plans to build a factory as soon as business improves. He disclosed that the Liberian market has been accepting the FanMilk products fairly well and none of FanMilk customers should worry as the company is here to stay.
